Meditative Walk

What distinguishes a meditative walk from a regular walk?  It's the intention you bring to it. 

Get outside

  1. Before you set out, ask yourself what you want to get out of this walk. Clarity? Mental rest? 
  2. Take some deep breaths to center your mind.
  3. As you begin, imagine taking your first step over a barrier into a sacred space.
  4. Walk slowly and thoughtfully, and match your breath with your pace.
  5. When the monkey mind shows up, try to steady yourself with a few breaths and keep walking.

Tips

Consider a labyrinth or other space dedicated to spiritual walking.

Are you meditating, getting fresh air, exercising?  You can do all 3 at once!
